Playlist structure with backup links?

Is it possible to setup a normal IPTV playlist with seamless backup servers?

like

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,TV RTL HD
http://192.168.100.8:4023/rtp/232.x.xxx.xx:5003
http://192.168.10.1:30000/rtp/232.x.xxx.xx:5003

So it would normally connect to the first and try the second only if first fails.

watching IPTV (udpxy - udp to htt) over WiFi. Buffer problem

I do know you can set input to high latency and it does infact help alot. But there is still here and there with a flaky wifi, which is 99,8% always around 7-10Mbit with iptv stream being under 3Mbit. Anyway here and there it happens that the stream starts to stutter and doesn't recover anymore unti...

Re: VLC settings commands?

tried that. It just totally ignores the option part in the playlist. They only work in the shortcut.

VLC settings commands?

Is it possible to have commands like --ffmpeg-fast --ffmpeg-skiploopfilter=4 executed in the playlist itself just for one channel? Right now my IPTV Provider is streaming one channel in mpeg4 h264 and all others in Mpeg2. My computer is very weak, a Celeron 2Ghz which can barely run this mpeg4 chann...

Re: Building HTML pages

I recommend using video php portals like Jinzora, Subsonic or even Orb 2.0. They are all designed for video streaming over http and the first 2 have a m3u list support but support only the standard formats like .avi, wma, mp4, flash, mov... that are stremable over http. The third one does stream eve...

Well regardless of that. It would be nice to know why the latest version of VLC don't work over ftp any more?

Re: Streaming Videos over FTP (using FileZilla Server)

That is simple so untrue. Install VLC player 0.8.6i and they will work just fine over FTP with filezilla. You can also isntall wamp that comes with apache 2.x and then you will have them over http as well. HTTP works with every vlc player above 0.8.6i just fine also. You can even rewind with the lat...

Re: Old playlist .m3u not stremable anymore?

Hm yes it does work from the command line or firedaemon now. I can see the list working and I can see it playing in netlimiter. But The stream doesnt connect on port 1290 like I set it and like it works in x.8.6i. Command line looks like this. "C:\Users\Sawyer\Desktop\test.m3u" ":sout...

No doesnt work any better. It still starts playing it locally instead of streaming like in x8x.

Re: VLC and IPTV streaming in windows 7?!

No I mean it has to save the settings somewhere or it wouldnt remember them after a restart. But nevermind now since I was able to enable everything on Win7 so a switch on network cards doesnt hurt as long as you dont use more OSes on the same computer and I dont plan to since win7 works just fine a...

Re: VLC and IPTV streaming in windows 7?!

Ok some correction. It deffinately is the NIC order and firewall in windows 7 since its not united like in Vista but each NIC has its own. Secondly I did some experimenting with different NIC order in Vista also. I can in both cases/orders and both OSes get IPTV working with VLC either it starts by ...

Re: VLC and IPTV streaming in windows 7?!

I got it now. It has nothing to do with NIC order or anything. Windows7 seems to have seperated firewalls for both NICS and when it asked me to unblock VLC when starting Playlist for the first time. It just did this for the 192.168.1.2 NIC wich is in homegroup. The other NIC where IPTV feeds in is m...

Re: VLC and IPTV streaming in windows 7?!

as far as I understand this. The problem is not the destination but the source NIC. It doesnt know from where to take the data which it is asked to send to 192.168.1.2 with the above command. Even when I set the VLC up manually. Looks like it doesnt read this settings when started from firedaemon fo...

Re: VLC and IPTV streaming in windows 7?!

Yeah I did try that also and it did not work. After I setup VLC by hand with the IP address of the nic that has IPTV pluged in. It started working, playing locally. But Firedemon services still didnt trigger it as a stream. They I was testing some more and opened VLC channel 1 and it started streami...

VLC and IPTV streaming in windows 7?!

I'm trying to get IPTV streaming working on windows 7 with vlc-0.8.6i-win32. On Vista VLC automatically configured itself and it started to play IPTV by intself. On Windows 7 it did not do that. So I had to input the IP into Access output IPv4 multicast output interface address. Now It started worki...
