Very strange: with VLC 1.0.2 if I use "Open File" and navigate to a NAS share I can't see all the files; some appear and others don't but it isn't clear why (they have the same attributes). It doesn't seem to matter how deep the folder nesting is either. If I use "Advanced Open File&q...

Thanks Artie. But this still doesn't seem to work for network shares and there doesn't seem to be an option to navigate to them from this menu, unless I'm missing something?

Use "Advanced File Open": it does remember the last local directory used. But unfortunately this is still a problem for me because "Advanced File Open" doesn't seem to see any network shares unless they're mapped to the system as network drives...
