You're right - I noticed that that -for some strange reason (since I hadn't tweaked anything)- in Tools>Preferences many items were showing duplicated... So, I pressed the "Reset VLC media player preferences and cache files" shortcut from Start Menu and it fixed the problem. Thank you.

But it does!!
It shows this
for a second or less, before it show the file.

No, I'm not talking about the ActiveX plugin
but the media player itself (vlc.exe).
