I use Sarge VLC 0.8.2 and have the same problems. I suspect FFMPEG but I am absoluteley not sure. We seem to get ignored because we're on eiter testing or unstable. I havenot pbroblem trying this under woody.

if you have any new information let us know.

Segmentation faults when starting to stream - ALWAYS

Hi all, where can I check for reasons and remedies if I keep getting segmentation faults right after streaming is to start. YEP! Thanks for that hint. I wouldn't have guessed this even though I have been playing around with the --extraintf switch and stuff.

Start vlc without X-Server installed - w/out client stuff

Hi all. Suppose VLC only has to function as streaming server; no client function necessary; no X-Server installed. Remote clients use vlc as their streaming server. How am I to tell vlc to run without complaining about missing displays, i.e. without X-Server etc. pp. ? I couldn't find a switch that ...
