Re: Recording a multi-chaptered DVD into one file

Hi Roddude, Got it, there are 90 different movies on your DVD, while my 1st test has been done on a "1 movie multi-chaptered" DVD I just sent you all infos by PM, after I did successful tests on a DVD which includes several movies in it (and several chapters in each movie) Hope you'll make...

Re: Recording a multi-chaptered DVD into one file

@Roddude, I found an open source transcoding tool (with a great interface) that could help you to remove all chapters in a DVD structure. Though it's dated from 2005, it worked perfectly on my Windows XP system (but I can't tell you if it will work on Vista or 7) I made a complete test for you, remo...

Re: How To Manually Select The "Repair" Option?

Hello Roddude, Well I guess it's not the same purpose : * DivFix++ (what a great program !) fixes the avi file by re-writing it completely (index etc...) on the hard drive : it's not the same avi file at all when it ends its task and the avi is definitely repaired for always. * Vlc never rewrites th...

Re: How To Manually Select The "Repair" Option?

Hello xlegendx, I'm not sure there is an explicit "Repair File" option in any menu, which would allow you to fix any kind of movie, in case it's what you're asking. The only "Repair" option is found in Preferences and it concerns only broken AVI files. This option is found here :...

Re: VLC Recording - When do Tell it is "On"?

Hello jjb2010, It's the Record button itself that should indicate you if the recording is "On" or not. I just made a try and : 1) When it's not recording, the square record button has a white background surrounding the red circle 2) When it's recording, then its background turns to grey, p...

Re: Subtitle streams embedded in avi/divx

Sure I can ! Thanks Vlc_help, for your reply :) Here is a link of a 10Mb .divx I just prepared, it includes 1 embedded subtitle stream : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5J20UO30 I prepared it with the great free program named AVIAddXSubs In case you need the original .avi (10Mb) + the original .srt , I...

Subtitle streams embedded in avi/divx

Hello, I got a question concerning Subtitles streams embedded in avi/divx movies. As you know, when it comes to avi/divx, not all subtitles are external files (like .srt , or .idx/.sub etc...) Some avi/divx movies include subtitles streams (up to 8 probably) that you can activate (or not) when you w...

Re: Saving film

So it really was that little hidden "1" which created the issue !
That's great, now your problem is solved :)

I got a question for VLC_help (concerning subtitles) but I'll create a new topic right now, so it won't interfere with yours.

Re: Saving film

Hi Fernando, The 2 different files (movie and subtitles) must have exactly the same name (apart from the extension .avi / .srt) But I notice yours don't have exactly the same name (there is an additional "1" in the movie name) as you wrote this : "Burn.xvid.cd 1 .avi" and "B...

Re: Unticked only one instance but still does not work???

Hi swong46, I had the same problem as yours a few weeks ago (couldn't find how to have more than one Vlc running) Unticking the "Allow only one instance" box in the simple settings is the first start (that you already did) Unfortunately (and very sadly) it's not enough, now you got to tick...

Re: Changing timing for subtitles

I guess this should work :
Tools menu => Track synchronization => Synchronization

Then modify the default 0 value in "Advance of subtitles over video" (+ sign if subs go ahead, they'll display later) (- sign if they lag, they'll display earlier)

Re: How to disable "Recent" playlist?

Hi Thomas :D

I guess you have to do the following :
Tools => Preferences => Show Settings (All) => Interface => Main Interfaces => Qt => Save the recently played items in the menu (UNselect)

Re: Problem displaying IDX/SUB subtitles!

Re: Problem displaying IDX/SUB subtitles!

Bravo Zopyrus and I confirm it : if the folder name contains the # sign, then idx/sub don't show anything
(i did this new try with others idx/sub than yours, just to double check)
Maybe this will be useful to Vlc programmers.

Re: Problem displaying IDX/SUB subtitles!

Hi all,
Just to tell Zopyrus that your Hotfile idx/sub files show normally on my Vlc 1.1.7 version (without any font change)
2 korean subtitles + 2 english subtitles, all appear correctly when I change from one to the other during playback.

Re: Converting TS into AVI possible?

Hello Asimo , I guess someone from Vlc staff will probably ask you to share this little TS file (2.6Mbyte) on rapidshare or megaupload etc... so they can try what you already did. Also it would be interesting to get this file, for curious members who convert files into Avi, using Vlc or another conv...

Re: Subtitles in txt file

So, to automatically use the words (in the same folder with the same name), expansion of strings must have. srt so? Not necessarily, because there are different kind of subtitles that open automatically with VLC (automatically = when you double clic on a movie file in Windows Explorer) : * The .srt...
