Re: Adding Subtitles to a DVD

So you were able to launch the DVD disc by opening its Video_TS folder, that's great :) Now that's how my test went : * The DVD menu was playing in VLC, with an option to "Play All scenes" (we need to start at 00h00m00s) * It started to play the 1st chapter, I paused it quickly (let's say ...

Re: Adding Subtitles to a DVD

Hi caalip & VLC_help Interesting topic indeed ! After reading you, I tried something that worked : First of all, don't let Vlc open automatically the DVD disc, because you won't be able to access the wanted menu (Video => Subtitles Track => Open File... won't open any dialog box, as described by...

Hi Carol999

Indicate the Directory you want (E:\Temp in the following pic)

I felt j-b would answer this kind way... j-b, you don't like lengthy posts ? So please delete my precedent post and do what you want with c627627's post. Close our accounts, ban us or do what you please, I don't care if this path issue isn't resolved until 2099 In fact I shouldn't even have answered...

Re: v1.2.0 Pre-Re still cannot open DVD folders: Media>Open

Hello c627627, I haven't tested pre-version 1.2.0 but this looks very annoying, because I have one of the issue that you described. In the forum, I stopped asking for Vlc to remember correctly the paths of what has been opened because (imho) it will never be fixed correctly (due to the many menu pla...

Hi goofyto8, Yes it should be possible. First go to : Tools => Preferences => Show Settings (all) => Video Then you'll have to UNcheck "Show Media title on video" The following pic will show you where it is checked in my preferences, just do the opposite (uncheck) and Save your Preferences...

Hi Panta,
When it happens to me, I just lower volume then immediately Save Preferences and everything works fine during future Vlc sessions. Maybe it will work for you ?
PS: my Vlc version is 1.1.11

Hi all, I guess svr32 opens his media with double click (please confirm when you read this) Because if you drag & drop, or if you open from Vlc menu (Media => Open File...) then it automatically adds the entry in the "Recent Media" line shown in his pic (I just tested all this) So it's...

Hi mildaz, You could also try this workaround : add a black background to your english subtitles, they should hide most of the french burned-in subtitles, as shown in the 2 following pics Good luck :D http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/8656/preferences.jpg http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/267/subles...

Hi c627627, I don't know if they'll release an immediate patched version, due to this bug that didn't exist at all in precedent versions. Until they fix it in the next stable version, I guess the only workaround is to right click the Video_ts folder directly from Windows Explorer, then choose "...

cienega : that depends about your AV setup in your living room. If you have some nice player connected to your TV (like Boxee), it might play the video directly from USB memory stick. If you have just regular DVD player, you must create DVD Video disc from the AVI. @ cienega Vlc_help implicitly ask...

Hi vidjim, If you record today a part of a movie named "Dark Star.avi", at 18h32m38s, the file name will show exactly this : vlc-record-2011-05-31-18h32m38s-Dark Star.avi-.avi So a search on "vlc-record-2011-" should be enough to find anything you'll record during 2011 Now the lo...

Hi procadman,
VLC_help meant Tools -> Preferences in VLC menu, not in Windows Explorer.
