when one acquires from an external device, we should be able to choose the input type s-video or composite. It's possible if we check "propriétés du périphérique" in the dshow mitre but it doesn't take effect in the vlcrc file... it is possible to keep the same configuration for each time ...

i try to acquire from a hauppauge card with VLC 0.8.2 test and i've got this error : main error : can't open video

While with the 0.8.0 i do exactly the same thing and i can acquire my stream!

i need to be reconforted : the extension file for mpeg1/2/4 video is .mpg and not mp1, mp2, mp4 isn't it ?

i have transcoded a .VOB file into MPEG-2 file with a bitrate of 512kbps for the video, the problem is that the duration of the .VOB is more important than the MPEG-2 and some passages of the movies have been cut!!!

I don't have any problem when i use a video composite cable with an adapator composite-->s-video. When i try to do the same thing with only a s-video cable the capture is scramble...

I wanted to watch a video with VLC but the quality was too bad. So, i tried with Windows Media Player and... Magic! The video is clear. In fact, the video format was WMV2, so i thought it was normally, but VLC get WMV1/2 codec... I don't understand why i have a better quality with one of the two.

it seems strange to don't want the sound on the client : turn off your speakers . Furthermore, i wonder if VLC allow es mux to stream out... But in any case, don't trust me too much cause i still a noob in this domain
