Re: Setting Default Directory VLC

If you want to open something, you have to pass it on the CLI, as with most programs. There is no default. Hi Denis OK. I never use the CLI version (cvlc) as it doesn't have all the controls available as invoking the GUI version (and my friends cannot get used to that approach anyway). I thought th...

Setting Default Directory VLC

Hi I am trying to set a default directory that VLC can open in whenever started. I am using a Linux Distro Fedora 38 Version 3.0.20 Vetinari. I am unable to see anywhere in the menu that determines a default location when VLC starts. Is it possible to set a 'go to' when the application first opens? ...

Streaming over HDMI cable to VLC

Hi I have been using VLC for years. It is really great. I have a desire to 'stream and/or capture', on my Computer, the stream coming from my Set Top Box over an HDMI cable. I have success setting up a Video Capture Surveillance System using an open source Capture Application. Since it is using IP C...

Re: VLC Video not working in Fedora 24/25

Hi
I just came upon this thread and the solution proposed by Sparky68 worked for me on F24. I guess my question is is this issue being addressed as a 'bug'? Is it an issue with VLC or with Linux Drivers.

Re: VLC 2.2.0 -rc2 Weatherwax

From the menu it shows all 25 chapters in the list of playback choices (metadata I assume in .vob1). If I choose one beyond 14, even with the <next chapter> option, it stops the playback. My music Video (Ripped with Haupauge by a friend) is Alison Krauss in a concert in Louisville, Kentucky. I have ...

Hi
Yes. No problem except it is 7.5 GB in size. How do I get it to you?

VLC 2.2.0 -rc2 Weatherwax

Hi I have installed VLC2.2.0 under Fedora 21. It seems, for the most part to be working well. I do have one question however. When I try to move forward in a movie to specific Chapters using Playback it will stop the playback altogether and I have to start over. This is with a music video and it has...

Re: Fedora 16 and VLC 1.1.13

Hi Remi I have several machines running F16 and VLC 1.1.13 and, apart from the garbled sound (which always clears up) I can play movies etc. with no problems. Today I installed F16 on a machine (Laptop Aspire 5749-6475) and it would not play the movie 'Shooter'. The error was as follows: ---> Your i...

Re: Fedora 16 and VLC 1.1.13

Hi Remi
Thanks for the reply. When would 2.0 be available for Linux? Should I consider rolling back my version of VLC, as I never had this problem previously?
Thanks for all your help.

Fedora 16 and VLC 1.1.13

Hi I am using Fedora 16 Kernel 3.2.9-2.fc26.x86_64, Gnome 3.2.1 and VLC 1.1.13. I love the VLC Player and I am wondering how to address a pesky little problem that has been apparent for many versions. It seems that when opening VLC for the first time after a boot the sound is 'garbled' or 'crackly'....

Good Video Very Rough Sound

Hi I have just downloaded FC10 and installed it successfully. I have installed VLC on this system and it plays DVDs very well. The sound is unfortunately very choppy to the point of unbearable. I have always enjoyed VLC and try to use it on all my Distros. I dio not quite understand why I have this ...
