Sorry, you are correct, the source video is an .flv.

Does it help, if you rip the movie to hard drive and try to playback it from there? Can't get anything (on a computer) to read them. They usually try and crash. Well you can make a static build of qt4 for vlc if you build it yourself, but i don't know if it's the best solution. Thats how alienbob solved it for slackware 12.2 that doesn't include qt4. My old libdvdcss was out of date (1.2.8). Found the new rpm's at atrpms (pbone.net)
