[solved] Re: How do I drop previous files?

Check the loop button (the one with A→B from View -> Advanced Controls) and press it as many times as needed for both the A and B to become back to black colour. Hi Lotesdelere, My loop button was off, but my "Random" button was on. You lead me right to the solution. Thank you! -T

2.0.1 plays for 6 seconds

Hi All, $ rpm -qa vlc\* vlc-2.0.1-2.el6.x86_64 Since upgrading from 2.0.0 to 2.0.1, the following radio station will only play for six seconds and the counter will freeze. I can stop the player and restart it and it will play for another six seconds: /usr/bin/vlc http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/Show....

Re: flv --> ogg ?

VLC can read .flv, but not .swf.
Sorry, you are correct, the source video is an .flv.

How do I convert just the audio portion of an .flv to an .ogg?

Many thanks,
-T

Re: Can not play certain DVD's with 99 titles

Does it help, if you rip the movie to hard drive and try to playback it from there? Can't get anything (on a computer) to read them. They usually try and crash. Think is has something to do with randomized titles (99 is probably all as far as my reader can count). Set top TV DVD players do work fin...

Re: No VLC 1.0.0 for RHEL 5.x/CentOS 5.x due to QT 4.3

Well you can make a static build of qt4 for vlc if you build it yourself, but i don't know if it's the best solution. Thats how alienbob solved it for slackware 12.2 that doesn't include qt4. You can check his vlc.SlackBuild for ideas http://slackware.org.uk/people/alien/slackbuilds/vlc/build/ I se...

Re: No VLC 1.0.0 for RHEL 5.x/CentOS 5.x due to QT 4.3

No. Qt4.2 lacks a blocking queue for signals.
Not to ask too stupid a question, but is there a way to work around this problem?
Will the Windows version of 1.0.0 work in Wine?

No VLC 1.0.0 for RHEL 5.x/CentOS 5.x due to QT 4.3

Dear Developers, According to a posting by Dag Wieers over on users@lists.rpmforge.net: But I just looked closer to why it complained and tried to work around it, however it seems vlc 1.0.0 needs QT 4.3, and RHEL5 only ships with QT 4.2. So I can officially say that vlc 1.0.0 will be out of the pict...

Re: How do I display what is playing?

VLC 1.0.0 should do it correctly (bug in 0.9x versions)
Any work around while we wait for 1.0.0 to be released?

And, is there a projected date for 1.0.0 to be released?

Many thanks,

Back when SMplayer use to work under CentOS 5.2, it would show the titles of what was playing in the upper bar. As of CentOS 5.3, SMplayer is broken (again). So ...

[Solved] Re: How do I play a current DVD movie?

Yipee! Figured it out.

rpm -Uvh libdvdcss-1.2.10-5.el5.i386.rpm \
libdvdcss2-1.2.10-5.el5.i386.rpm

My old libdvdcss was out of date (1.2.8). Found the new rpm's at atrpms (pbone.net)

Hope this helps someone else,

How do I play a current DVD movie?

Hi All, Okay, I know it is time for me to buy a new TV set, but until then, I like to occasionally watch DVD movies on my computer, as it has the only wide screen monitor in the house. Problem: this year's DVD movies gag my computer's DVD players. Last year's still work. And all of them work in my T...

Re: Request: read ISO's

Try drag-and-dropping the ISO file onto the VLC media player shortcut. It should then treat it as a normal DVD-Video (assuming it is that). Arite. Hi Arite, I am using Linux. Dragging and Dropping files is not so polished as in Windows. Please revise my request such that it would give a "File,...
