Re: Playlist Issue

On Windows, vlc just changed the way the location is stored in xspf files to fully comply with Microsoft specs. (URI format) Old xspf playlist may have problems to be read in vlc1.0.0. If so, a trick can be to save them as a m3u playlist before getting rid of the old version, and then recreate a xsp...

Re: Changing skin

In tools / Preferences, just choose "skins" and you will get the default skins. (You need to quit and restart vlc for the choice to be taken into account.) Then, you can get many more skins on http://www.videolan.org/vlc/skins.html. Those are .vlt files that you need to copy into one of th...

Re: Disable double click to go fullscreen in mozilla plugin

Which platform Linux, Mac or Windows ?

With vlc1.0.0 on Linux, the --vout-event parameter (see vlc -H for details) allows deactivating all hotkeys and mouse interactions. Not sure it is implemented for other platforms.

Re: Opening VLC maximized, stopping the video resizing

The "Resize interface to video size" parameter is back in vlc1.0.0 (first screen in preferences).
Default is checked. Uncheck it and vlc won't change the overall size any more.

Have you tried unticking the new "Resize interface to video size" parameter (first screen in preferences) available in vlc1.0.0 ?

Re: Annoying auto resize when playing DVD ?

What about unticking "Resize interface to video size" (first screen of preferences) ? It should work for all type of videos.

The parameter is available in vlc1.0.0

Re: aSkin Compatability

This is a known bug of VLC but there has not yet been found a fix, afaik it is not limited to a specific skin but occurs every so often with every skin. any trac # or log available to start with ? which platform (Win or Linux) ? I did some tests with latest 1.0-bugfix on WinXP. I found two differen...

Re: Skin issues in linux

You can copy all .vlt files either in ~/.local/share/vlc/skins2 (for one user) or /usr/share/vlc/skins2 (for all users)

All skins detected in either directories are proposed in the "Select skins" subitem in the popupmenu (right click)

Re: preventing mouse double-click to fullscreen for libVLC

Hum, maybe it's only available in the new vlc1.0.0 version. the parameter is --vout-event and vlc -H gives the description.

You can download it from http://nightlies.videolan.org/

Re: preventing mouse double-click to fullscreen for libVLC

--vout-event is a three-state parameter that allows you to decide if vlc is to manage hotkeys/mouse events automatically or if the libvlc developper can regain full control of them. vlc -H will give you the full description. This parameter was introduced for Linux. Not sure if it is implemented for ...

Re: Move for <video> tag?

A video control (video tag) cannot be used to move the window to which it belongs. Only image controls have got a 'action' parameter that can be set to 'move' to move their window.

Re: more skins2 testing, followup

Hi black, raptor skins may be the first skins ever to fully use alternate layouts with videos... Therefore, it's a good skins for debugging purpose. I used it to review all the resizing problem including zooming when multiple layouts are used. I am about to send a patch that hopefully solves these p...

Re: zoom anomaly on raptor

Zooming with raptor skins did show some misfunctioning (due to the use of multiple video tags within multiple layers).

I am preparing a patch that will hopefully work out the problem. stay tuned.

1) VLC crash reporting dialog appears history. 2) No zoom crashes since 6/9/09...rc3 availability. great 3) Cursor remains showing on windowed UI, but not in default qt-UI. weird, cursor is not managed by the UI, but at the vout level. They should behave the same way for both qt-UI and skins. 4) No...

For Linux, I'm afraid the doc is out of date. vlc now uses the ~/.local directory.

rather copy the .vlt skins into the following directory : ~/.local/share/vlc/skins2 (works on Debian)

Re: Image URLs not working

Hum, maybe an OS issue ? Are you on MacOS ? The issue with jpg files is to make sure no "file://" is added to their mrl (It may unfortunately be added implicitly ... ). For example, on WinXP (vlc1.0-rc2), - drap&drop on the vlc qt4 gui => works fine - Open them with the Open File menu ...

Re: PNG Transparency

Actually, I do agree real-time semi-transparency can be very useful ... But, enabling it will require more than the few lines of code I first figured out. Additional optimizations are necessary. For example, opaque controls and controls with a 1-bit transparency should be detected at initialization ...

Re: PNG Transparency

After more testing, I now understand why semi-transparency was not implemented by default. It's not about devs being too lazy to tackle the problem (the code already exists). It's a matter of performance and design. Implementing it on button/checkbox controls is not painful performance-wise, because...

- Zooming zooming when multiple video tags are present could indeed lead to crashes. A fix has been applied.
