Re: Is this possible with skinning?

Using the skins2 interface with the latest vlc1.2 version, this can be achieved only in fullscreen mode, but not on a regular window. The fullscreen controller (a dedicated skinned window) can now be easily positioned (In your case, centered at the bottom of the screen) and transparency can even be ...

Re: VLC:Skinned+Extended_Desktop+Fullscreen=fail

This issue was indeed addressed in the vlc1.2.0 version. (Both Windows and Linux ports)

If you don't mind, please give it a try, and report if you still see some misfunctioning, as the Windows port was not tested as much as the Linux port.

Re: Display current playback speed

This is indeed a missing feature. And it seems easy to implement. For instance, something like a %R for the current playback speed. I'll see if such a patch can still be submitted for the next major release.

Re: Dalin Skins Question

skins are shipped as a single vlt file, that is not meant to be unzipped at the end user level. This single file is to be placed in the vlc skins folder. Manually unzipping the vlt file only makes sense if you plan to hack on it.

Re: i can't Catch mouse events vlc 1.1.5 in Qt,please help m

I just committed a patch for the vlc1.1 and vlc1.2 series that does this job of disabling vlc windows when libvlc developper specifies both mouse and keyboard support to be disabled via the libvlc api.

So no more need for this hack in future versions.

No such skin.

Moreover, A-B selection is only available with the default interface (qt4). The skins2 engine doesn't offer this feature.(yet?)

Re: no drag and drop with skins and ubuntu

On Linux in vlc1.0 or vlc1.1, the skins2 engine does have a few issues with respect to Drag&Drop. In vlc1.2 (dev branch), these problems have hopefully been worked out. As for "always on top", it is supported by the skins2 engine. (For the default skin you mention, it is available via ...

Re: These skins don't work with dual monitors:

skins are not to be blamed. The skins2 engine was simply not managing multiple screens at all in fullscreen mode whether on Windows or on Linux. The result was unsatisfactory for both platforms, though problems ended up being slightly different. In vlc1.2.0 (the dev version), this should be remedied...

Re: How to output the multiple video tracks?

Alternatively, if you just want multiple videos in a single window, the skins2 interface is your friend. You can create your own skin with multiple <VIDEO> tags within a single window. These videos tags will be used in the order they appear in the theme.xml file. This can be used either with multipl...

I have been experiencing this very same problem for a while with vlc1.2-git on Ubuntu10.04. Whatever the file (.mp4, .mkv, ...) and the interface (qt4, skins2), the audio is lost when seeking with the position slider. A workaround is to uncheck and check again the Audio/Device/"playback/recordi...

Re: VLC Skin eDark Vlc not working properly...pls help!!!

The following applies to all skins (that's a feature of the skins engine) : - With the current vlc version (vlc1.1.x), showing/hiding the fullscreen controller is done manually (either press the 'i' hotkey or click the mouse middle button to toggle it) - With the next not-yet-released version (vlc1....

Almost all features mentioned in these previous posts are supported by the skins2 engine (frame-by-frame, record, loop, slow down, ...). The only one that is not supported is the a->b feature. Btw, the concept of "advanced controls" solely makes sense within the qt4 interface. There is no ...

Have you considered the vlc skins2 interface ?

The latest vlc1.2.0-git version now allows relative placement of a window within the screen. You can for instance alter the default skin to meet your requirements. (just need some very basic knowledge of xml)

1. skins2 always saves and restores positions. But, you can prevent automatic resizing when a video is launched by either unchecking "no video resize" parameter (first panel of preferences) or forcing autoresize="false" in the skins theme.xml file. 2. Yes. It will be fixed in the...

Re: Custom Skins Not Working Correctly (1.1.5)

What do you call a "broken volume change" ? Everything seems to work as it always did. What is indeed true and unfortunate is that the skins and qt4 interfaces don't provide the same volume measurements : - qt4 ranges from a 0 to a so called 200 or 400% depending on whether qt-volume-compl...
