Re: Never ending SPDIF output chopping bug

I tried vlc-1.1.0-git-20100305-0002-win32.exe and I can confirm that this release is working excactly as older versions did with the 0.8.4 plugin. I get proper audio on my hardware, but the volume control is rendered completely useless. Including mute. But that is also the case in windows media play...

Re: Never ending SPDIF output chopping bug

wave32 fix has never worked for me. And now, the plugin replace doesn't work either!

The link at the site points to https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/register - which states that trac is down

Re: HTTP file open bugs/weirdness

The behaviour is also present in vlc-1.1.0-git-20090915-2208-win32-debug.zip

The 10kb packet requesting bug can be reprodused by clicking to different seek positions in a fast pase. Clicking "stop", and then "play" again will make it work as expected again.

Re: How does vlc read over HTTP? Want to serve a bytestream..

I am able to start playback with VLC, however if there's limited bandwidth availible, vlc just freeze playback - while still using all availible bandwidth! If I seek to another place in the video, it starts buffering, and playback starts as expected. Not sure if that's a feature request or bug tho

How does vlc read over HTTP? Want to serve a bytestream..

I am attempting to write a php script to send video data to vlc. What I'm trying to do, is to mimic the behaviour of apache, when you enter http://localhost/sample.avi into the "open network stream". I want to serve sample.avi from php, by sending the data to vlc from php. Using fiddler I ...

Re: VLC 1.0.0 RAR Support

naah, but the result are consistent. Tried 50-100 different samples, should be fairly easy to replicate. All samples are without compression (m0)

Re: VLC 1.0.0 RAR Support

Divx compressed files work, including seek

DVD ISO gets some parts of the image up, with some sort of seek, but no sound, and menu is screwed
x264 doesn't appear to work at all

VLC Streaming server as Video On Demand backend with seek

Can this be done? I wish to use VideoLAN to read obscure video formats and transcode them into mpeg-2 or another suitable codec as a video on demand service with seek and pause at the client side.

What alternatives do I have to this approach?

Never ending SPDIF output chopping bug

Symptoms; Select SPDIF as audio output, and sound starts chopping right away. Like a 0,2s buffer on repeat for 2 seconds, then a new 0,2s sound is repeated over and over. If You pause the playback, the sound is still present. Fixes; * Select Waveout as output in preferences. (Only on some soundcard...
