Title sums it up. I have mapped my media keys shortcuts to "global shortcuts", but it did not help. I haven't be able to google another suggestion. Help appreciated.

While Jean is technically correct, solution does exist. Check your mp3's in windows media player (assuming you use windows), whether they play via rear speakers.
