I'm using VLC to stream out from a capture card, linked to network with an ethernet cable. Next, I've tried WiFi connection and everything still works fine. Now I'm using a HSUPA USB modem key and the output stream is a little bit jerky, with macroblocks, etc ... I guess the problem deals with buffe...

So there's no way to change aspect ratio while transcoding ?

I'm using VLC 0.8.6i to grab frames from a capture card (resolution is 640x480).
I'd like to transcode this to 640x360 (x264) as the source is 16:9. If I set "width=640, height=360", transcoded file is still 640x480.
Am I doing wrong ?

I'm using VLC to stream from a capture card. But I would like to stream a waiting screen before switching to capture card.
Is it possible to switch without stopping VLC ? How ? Is it possible with telnet interface ? How ?

I'm using VLC to only stream and don't specially want to see GUI.
I understand I can use cvlc instead vlc but I don't have it under Windows.
Where is it ? Is there a vlc.exe CLI switch to avoid GUI ?

x264 encoder don't work in 0.9.x Win32 builds. It crashes VLC every time you try to use it.

I try to playback this kind of streams but none of VLC releases work.

access_rtmp error: body handshake received corrupt

VLC can't communicate with your server properly. Problem can come from firewall (you can try localhost to figure this out), or VLC (coding error) or Wowza (coding error).

I'm using 0.9.4 under Vista. Do RTMP streams really work ? It seems some people succeed in playing this kind of streams but I just can't.
