I faced this issue in Vista. I'm sure it would have reproduced in any windows version. The problem was that the ActiveX control was trying to load plugin DLLs from C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\plugins folder. Those DLLs were inturn dependent on certain DLLs in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC folder. ...
