I keep encountering what I believe is referred to as audio stuttering: the audio briefly cuts out, then returns. If I jump to the same point in a video file this will usually happen at around the same time later, but I can always hear the dropped audio by going back a few seconds and hitting play - ...

So it's a bug? I thought maybe I just had some settings wrong or something, like there was an option somewhere to turn off subtitles while paused, or something more obscure.

Whenever I'm watching something with soft subtitles in VLC on Windows - and, I think, at least sometimes with hard subtitles - the subtitles disappear. They come back when I hit play. This is extremely frustrating, as I'm pausing the video to read the subtitles! Any ideas on how I can fix this? Than...
