Most files will happily let you click the "perform this action next time without asking" box. If you try to get an MKV file this box is always greyed out. You can save the files, it'd just be nice if the nag box didn't pop up every time. Is it possible to fix this so you can tick that box ...
Heres the short version VLC 1.1.11 Watching a vid, minimised it to do something else, maximised it and the audio was still running but all the image showed was my desktop background. Maximising to fullscreen brings the image back but what the frick is going on? I've never seen VLC do this ever befor...
I was running 1.1.11 and this issue has come back again. I've had to rollback to 0.9.9 just to get a clear picture again. I've now diagnosed my particular issue. It seems that VLC "forgot" my output setting and shunted to default. I set it back to OpenGL (I now have a dedicated graphics c...
this is STILL happening in version 1.1.5
and the folder you are supposed to remove to stop it no longer exists.
so how is it fixed if you cant remove the folder?
Question - Why doesnt an install of a new version automatically delete this folder and its contents? It removes everything else so why not this? A sensible idea to include that it should do that for the next revision methinks. At least this fixed the constant resizing issue. Shame you actually cause...
its your graphics card, not vlc.
you can tweak vlc as many times as you like but it'll change back every time.
i suggest you check here:- viewtopic.php?f=14&t=50836
okok is referring to the buffer by the sounds of it, i'm not the only one who finds it annoying then. for some reason it was introduced when the software went from 0.9.9 to 1.0.0 i have no clue why the feature was added, it was a bad idea and certainly wasnt needed. and it sounds like nonameform is ...
its not a recent issue, thats been going on since 0.9.9
vlc has never had a very good snapshot mode, its incapable of producing WSYWIG results and pretty much always has been.
if you are constantly mucking around with gamma & contrast on VLC then the problem lies with your PC settings graphics card, not vlc. i suggest you read this thread:- http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=50836 which will fix all your issues. you wont need to keep adjusting gamma &a...
Its as annoying as hell. why not just fix it so closing the program the regular way works.
is it time to go back to 0.9.9 because that worked.
its amazing how you can actually break stuff that already worked when you "improve" the program.
I finally decided to check if version 1 and above is working. Well done, you fixed the HDTV image issues. It only took you HOW LONG? Only problem now is the "show advance settings" button doesnt do what it used to in v 0.9.9 It used to toggle the snapshot button & other functions. For ...
mine was downloaded off Iplayer. just grab any show from there for example data. if i uploaded it to any of those places i'd be violating my Iplayer desktop agreement with them. its probably their (the BBC) security encoding that stops you playing them. i've since been able to play non-protected mp4...
This is not supposed to happen and I never had such a problem. Without tracing infos, we can't help you. asking me questions might help its traditionally how fault finding diagnostics works but you shouldnt need me to tell you that if you are any kind of programmer, what would you like to know that...
Clearly VLC cant tell I've currently got a game/data dvd (My Quake 4 dvd) in my dvd drive but regardless of what other kind of video file I open from just a filename the stupid annoying thing starts spinning up my dvd drive. Is there any way to set a default so it won't do this? Its as annoying as h...
Why cant anyone give a simple answer. I just want the snapshot to be whatever the current playback window size is. I'm not an advanced user, I struggle through the preferences screens at the best of times. FWIW, no matter what size you set the numbers you advised to change at the screenshot stays th...
Why is it when I take a snapshot no matter what size I've set my screen at all my snapshots are the exact same size? How can I configure it so my snapshot is the exact same size as what I physically see on screen? I'm using 0.9.9 (no, dont advise me to upgrade as anything above 0.9.9 wont render avi...
the following things STILL need fixing in your wonderfully rubbish 1.x.x versions.
the HDTV pixellation issues that don't happen with 0.9.9
the stupid buffering function, please remove it.
that fact that any 1.X.X version suddenly sets gamma up far too high (this one is a new problem).
you are also running Firefox whilst trying to do the install.
Certain Lib files won't install, you can only do a full install if Firefox is totally closed.
Oh, and older versions of VLC with the Mozilla plugin installed cause Facebook chat to crash with a runtime error.
