Re: "This AVI file is broken" message when it isn't

I had the same problem. All you have to do is go to "Tools" then Preferences, and click the Input and Codec Settings menu and in this menu there is a "repair AVI files". In the drop down menu/box click "Always Fix" and that's all it took for me. But if your video is st...

Re: Blank screen when video starts

getting it too, all videos as far as i'm aware. but mostly avi's.
i'm on 0.9.2 . No, I won't upgrade.
There's some things .6 is worse at than .2 so I prefer the more stable version for now.
and the trouble is sometimes they work and play 1st time, others you need to pause then play to fix it.

Re: [ask] vlc 094 doesn't save setting ?

I can confirm reverting BACK to 0.9.2 will let you save all settings.
In fact it seems to fix most problems I was having ;-)

Re: Issues with current Release on Windows

For some reason VLC will not play files if you doubleclick them but if you open VLC then drag them onto the window it'll happily play them (have only had this issue with video so far, yet to try it with audio). v9.2 seems to fix this issue And it'd be nice if VLC remembered settings once you saved t...

Re: VLC does not play AVI files

It didn't do anything. Wouldn't even open VLC when doubleclicking a file.
now appears to be fixed having installed 0.9.2.
9.4 seems to be the problem then.

you might want to check what changed between those versions to cause the problem.

Re: Issues with current Release on Windows

1 Fullscreen is still 'f' key. Thanks, i didn't know the hotkey. 1 issue solved ;-) 2 Accelerated sound was asked many times here. Why don't you like it? I write a weekly wrestling review and occasionally use the fast forward, its really annoying to have chipmonk announcers and crowd, I much prefer ...

Re: Tip: setting brightness for video overlay on graphics cards

Tip: setting brightness for video overlay on graphics cards If you find that video -- whether played from a DVD or a file -- is consistently too bright or too dark on your PC, you may benefit from my experience. On Windows XP, I can get to it through the Control Panel or by right-clicking on the de...

Re: VLC does not play AVI files

I have the same issue, the files play fine if you open VLC then drag them onto the program bar or use the open control.
Their not broken, their not fake.

VLC WILL play them, it just WONT open them.
And it used to.

Re: Issues with current Release on Windows

Ok heres my list of complaints then. In the old version switching to fullscreen or away from fullscreen was 1 keypress, why is it now 2? Can we have 1 touch controls for fullscreen back please? In the old version of VLC you could fast forward and wouldn't get any sound (which I preferred), why was t...
