You can use the --rc-show-pos will display the current position (in percent) in the stream. Since this isn't likely to be sufficient, it wouldn't be hard to add a command to retrieve the current position, of the implement a seek +12 or seek -12 command (it's just that nobody needed it until now)

We let the user play movies and bookmark scenes with Xine, and we switch automatically to VLC when the user wants to play the same thing in multiple rooms. The problems...

Re: VLC Looping when playing DVD title

Hi,

I also tried vlc dvdsimple:///dev/dvd@3, The movie is looping again and again.
This is the right way to do it. You can add a VLC:QUIT playlist item after the dvdsimple: one, in order to have VLC exit after hving read the stream

Re: Building a Home VideoLAN

I am planning to build a VideoLAN but I have some questions:

Can you put more then one DVB-S card in one server? I am planning to have multiple Nova-S with CI in one server to distribute the main 6 channels in my country on my network.
4 Nova-S have alrady been successfully tried

VLS can only output MPEG2/TS.

WMP is able to read that with some extra codecs.

However, be aware that vlc comes with a mozilla plugin for linux / windows / MacOSX

VLC is able to stream in MPEG1/2/4 using http / mms, etc...

You need to compile dvb drivers in the kernel, and libdvb-0.2.2

Rhen use --enable-dvd --with-libdvb=/pat/to/libdvb --with-dvb=/path/ti/kernel/sources

Well, the easiest woutld be to start vlc in a screen : create a vlc.sh file, in which you put your vlc command line (don't forget to specify -I dummy, rc, or http, since there won't be any X server available) Then, add a script in the right /etc/rc?.d directory (or use the tools that come with your ...

Hello,

0 = tuner
1 = composite
2 = svideo
Well, unforunatelly, things are a bit different with ivtv drivers than with bttv based cards...

On pvr250, 4 is used for TV, lower values for composite, upper for svideo (or the opposite, cannot remember ;-)
