Re: setup DOES delete my preferences even if I dont want it

A related problem: When I update VLC and choose to keep my settings the installer STILL as default associates VLC with ALL video files, ALL audio files. But I want to associate it with some video and audio file types and not others. That is one setting I do on each and every VLC install. Why does n...

Re: "Building Font Cache" stuck at 20%

Hi, The "Font Cache" popup appears quite frequently on my Windows system (running VLC 1.1.5). I have .txt with the same names as the video files - could that be a cause of this? VLC mistaking them for subtitle files and therefore activating the font cache component (whatever that does)? I ...

Re: record (red button) dvb-t saves wrong program

Thanks, that did the trick! Clarification if someone else finds this thread through search: Preferences->All->input/codecs->prefer native stream recording: Uncheck After that only the currently playing DVB program gets recorded. When I then play a DVB radio channel like this C:\__path__\vlc.exe dvb-...

Re: record (red button) dvb-t saves wrong program

Right, I have scripts set up to do scheduled recordings via command line. But for live, on the fly recording that button is the only real alternative. What's the best way to file a bug report about this (if there isn't one already). BTW, is there some simple way use VLC to post-process the TS into a...

record (red button) dvb-t saves wrong program

When a DVB-T live stream is playing in VLC clicking the red record button save the wrong program, not the program that is currently tuned. Example: When I play this stream C:\____path____\vlc.exe dvb-t:// :dvb-frequency=522000000 :dvb-bandwidth=-1 :program=3010 :no-video and press record then VLC re...

Re: dvb-t commandline - force audio only (no video)?

That did it! :) Thank you very much thannoy & Rémi for helpful feedback! For completion let me state what in the end worked on my system: post recording conversion to mp3: C:\Program files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe C:\test.mpg :sout=#transcode{acodec=mp3,ab=192,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=std{access=fi...

Re: dvb-t commandline - force audio only (no video)?

Yes, that didn't change anything. I now noticed that I have the same problem when converting post-recording. Strange since that has worked previously. Either something has changed in VLC or some change in the DVB-T channel I am recording is the cause. It might be the latter because I'm recording fro...

Re: dvb-t commandline - force audio only (no video)?

Thanks, but: if I add both "aenc=ffmpeg" and "audio-sync=enabled" then the output only plays audio for one second or so and then ends If I add only "aenc=ffmpeg" then the speed up problem is solved but the audio quality is low and metallic sounding. I will play around w...

Re: dvb-t commandline - force audio only (no video)?

As a follow up: I now want to record the audio only to a mp3. This outputs a mp3 file but it seems run at 1.5 or 2 times the normal speed. Can you or someone else spot any errors in the command line below? C:\Program\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe dvb-t:// :dvb-frequency=522000000 :dvb-bandwidth=-1 :program=3...

dvb-t commandline - force audio only (no video)?

I can play a DVB-T radio channel like this: C:\Program files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe dvb-t:// :dvb-frequency=522000000 :dvb-bandwidth=-1 :program=3010 But then it displays a static information video image. Re: save DVB-T program to file - command line question

Now you need to add 000 to the frequency you were used to use (e.g. 642000 becomes 642000000).
Thanks! Got it working again now.

A good feature in 1.0 RC1 is that the title of the current program is shown in the statusbar when playing dvb-t. I don't think that was there before.

Re: save DVB-T program to file - command line question

With 1.0 RC1 the syntax for recording seems to have changed. I can't pinpoint what is different but all my old scripts for recording have now stopped working. Can someone point me to information on exactly what is different? Thanks. Edit: By the way, when a DVB-T stream is playing is there some way ...

Re: save DVB-T program to file - command line question

An additional question: I want to record some the audio only of programs on radio channels that broadcast over DVB-T (technically as TV channels not radio). The standard command line for recording works in the sense that it outputs a working .mpg. But I'm having a hard time getting audio editors to ...

Re: save DVB-T program to file - command line question

Well it seems to have something to do with the program used, because if I record with ProgDVB then VLC can't play it back (in default mode; but can do it with some tweaking). Now when I record in VLC the files play back fine in VLC but give sync problems in some video editing programs. So you're rig...

Re: save DVB-T program to file - command line question

One more question: is it possible to put the commands for opening and recording a DVB-T program in a .m3u file? I've previously learnt how to use a .m3u to tune in a channel. Example: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:1,SVT1 #EXTVLCOPT:program=5840 dvbt://frequency=522000:bandwidth=-1 But I'm unsure on how to add the...

Re: save DVB-T program to file - command line question

Thanks, got it working now! It was the :sout-all part that I had copied from some other discussion on the forum that was the problem. So this works fine: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe dvb-t:// :dvb-frequency=522000 :dvb-bandwidth=-1 :program=5840 :sout=#duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=ps,d...

save DVB-T program to file - command line question

I'm trying to save a separate DVB-T program to a file. I searched the forums and found some hints. Re: Windows/Fullscreen/Playlist: black screen between clips

Great that this likely will be in v1.0. It is not clear above if it will work for any and all playback (including switching between two dvb-t programs on different frequencies) or only for playback of non-streamed sources like a number of separate video clip. Can anyone give some details on that?
