My original problems of .mkv files not playing through to the end and seeking problems seemed to have been solved in 0.9.6. I haven't used 0.9.8 but I'm guessing the problem shouldn't recur. Those of you still having problems - have you updated VLC yet?

I've had similar problems with all of my 720p .mkv's. At different points during playback always near the end of the film - sometimes 10 minutes from the end, sometimes 40 minutes and variations in-between - playback ends without any error message but VLC still open.
