Tried VLC 1.0.5, the behaviour is absolutely the same. No sound and everything I said applies to that version as well.
I think the stream is broken in such a way that VLC cannot handle it properly.

Thanks, I guess it could be the same reason. In Statistics pane it says Decoded 1234 blocks Played 1234 buffers Lost 1234 buffers So the whole audio is like being lost somewhere... A friend told me that KMPlayer has no troubles to play it with audio at all so I couldn't be sure if it is a bug or jus...

0.9.2 definitely has some kind of bug regarding the file associations. I checked the File Associations thing off - but AVIs started to open with VLC - this is the last thing I want. Re-installed it twice. Now back to the previous version 0.8.6i
