Re: VLC 2.1.0 Crashes only when Converting Files

Just wanted to also add that I've tried deleting preferences and even done clean installs on never touched OS and still have issues with audio transcoding. It has worked on every version of VLC in the 2.0.x line without issue until v2.1.0. This is an example command I use at the command line start v...

Re: DVDSimple command with VLC v2.01

On VLC v1.1.11 on 64bit Windows 7 I get this Playback failure: DVDRead could not open the disc "/D:\VIDEO_TS". Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvdsimple:///D:\VIDEO_TS'. Check the log for details. On VLC v2.0.1 on 64bit Windows 7 dvdsimple:///D:\VIDEO_TS and dvds...

Re: DVDSimple command with VLC v2.01

I tested on 2 more Windows 7 32bit PC's and both of them needed

Code: Select all

vlc dvdsimple:///D:
to play the movie. Again with v1.1.11 using only 2 slashes on Windows 7 32bit worked fine. I will set verbosity to 2 and report back messages.

DVDSimple command with VLC v2.01

I have 2 Windows 7 PC's, one is 64bit and one is 32bit. On the 64bit I can send the command vlc dvdsimple://D: and it will play the DVD in drive D: with no issues. On the 32bit I send the command vlc dvdsimple://D: and it errors. Playback failure: DVDRead could not open the disc "\\D:". Yo...

Command line switch to select DVD audio track

I use VLC via command line to play DVD's and it works great, my problem is that I think the DVD's by default are playing v5.1 sound and I'm only listening to it via my PC speakers so audio gets high and low. Wondering if there is a way to specify I only want the 2 channel audio track using a command...

dvdsimple command with 0.9.9

I noticed this command doesn't work anymore, is this a bug, or is there a new command now to play with bypassing menus? Sorry if this has been posted before, I searched, but couldn't find a definite answer whether this command is no longer supported or if the command has been replaced or if it just ...

Re: Problem with dvdsimple command

Would something like "dvd://D:\@1:1" instead of "dvdsimple://D:\" be a way to play all movies despite copyright protection by bypassing the menus?

Re: Problem with dvdsimple command

Not sure what copy protection would have to do with this. I mean I'm legally purchasing/renting the retail version of the movie and simply trying to play it back on my PC without menus. What exactly does VLC do when you use the dvdsimple command? Would telling the movies to always start at title 1, ...

Re: Problem with dvdsimple command

I have changed that to "vlc://quit" and now it simply launches VLC, starts to try and play the movie and quits with no error log and no playback. If I open the disc from the GUI of VLC and check to play without menus it will not play and pop up with "Playback failure: DVDRead could no...

Problem with dvdsimple command

I am having problems with more recent movies, I launch VLC from the command line by using "dvdsimple://D:\" and 9 times out of 10 it plays the movie without menus perfectly. However lately with newer movies I get this error with Fools Gold and Speed Racer to name a couple: Playback failure...
