Re: Problem with .m2ts file playback on Mac VLC 2.2.2

Thanks ajmas. Unfortunately this is a Heisenbug - the act of recording it makes it far, far worse than when I am just running VLC by itself :(

I'll have to try it later when I can quit the browser and all other optional programs so nothing interferes with the recording.

Re: Problem with .m2ts file playback on Mac VLC 2.2.2

OK, I downloaded the latest nightly (March 22) and the oldest one in that directory (2.2.2pre Nov. 23 2015) and they both still have the same problem as the 2.2.2 release version. Also, in general, I notice playback - even when it is not glitching - is not entirely smooth throughout the rest of the ...

Re: Problem with .m2ts file playback on Mac VLC 2.2.2

I see this for the first second of the clip. What is probably happening is that a ' key frame ' is probably missing or probably it wasn't decoded properly? Thanks ajmas . Well at least you see it ;) I see it for more than the first second, it happens a few times in the first 10 seconds or so, then ...

Problem with .m2ts file playback on Mac VLC 2.2.2

I have a Hauppage 1212 PVR and made a 2-minute test recording of a match on Tennis Channel. The resulting file is about 206 MB in size and it's an .m2ts file. The file plays back perfectly fine in either QuickTime Player (on Mac OS X 10.10.5) or Movist 1.3.3. But VLC 2.2.2 doesn't like it, there's a...

"main video output error: Invalid picture reference count"

I am on a Power Mac G5 (2.5 GHz Quad Core PowerPC, Mac OS X 10.5.8, all current updates). At my work we have a video streaming service over UDP that allows us to tune into a few dozen cable TV channels using VLC. This service worked fine up through (and including) VLC 1.1.9. As soon as I installed 1...

Re: VOD not working with v1.1.0

I got to this page from searching for "main video output error: Invalid picture reference count". I am on a Power Mac G5 (2.5 GHz Quad Core PowerPC, Mac OS X 10.5.8, all current updates). At my work we have a video streaming service over TCP/IP that allows us to tune into a few dozen cable...

Re: 0.9.2 - what happened to the "Media Information" window?

OK ... it is related to the other 0.9.2 Playlist thread ... see http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=50217#p161019 If I remove the ~/Library/Preferences/org.videolan.vlc.plist file, the movie now reappears in the Playlist ... but the "Codec Details" tab no longer shows the mo...

0.9.2 - what happened to the "Media Information" window?

I just upgraded from 0.9.0-test2 to 0.9.2 on my 2.16 GHz Core Duo MacBook Pro running 10.4.11. When I have a video running I often check the "Window" -> "Media Information..." pop-up to see the codec/size/audio encoding/etc. info under "Codec Details". In 0.9.2 this is ...
