So far works for me.

Is it about time that this stuttering issue soon being fixed?!

I don't even have Snow Leopard ("only" Leopard 10.5. the player stutters every now and then.
Really annoying.
A few version back(about before VLC left being beta) there where no problems with this.
Why now?

Ok, then go in the preferences, click on the "Video" item and set the value of the "Source aspect ratio" field to 16:9 . If that doesn't do what you want, clear that value, click the "Advanced options" checkbox and set the value of "Monitor pixel aspect ratio"...

Where in settings?
To underline - I want 16:9 as default output ratio.

I send the signal through VGA to my Samsung widescreen tv...
How do I set the video to always stretch to that ratio?
In the menu I can switch right by chosing Video->Ratio->16:9(instead of Standard).

How do I set it to always send the video as 16:9?
