Anytime I record a screencast with VLC, the frame rate is low, aprox less than 5 fps. I added in :screen-fps 25 but the framerate is the same. If I start a screencast locally without recording it the framerate is okay. Help would be appreciated!

I've uninstalled and reinstalled VLC but with no success.

It does use the Quicktime plugin by default, but it will not use VLC if the Quicktime plugin is disabled.

Neither MPEG-4 video or MOV file appear in the applications tab. All other media files are currently set to VLC.

The plugin won't show up whenever I try to view any quicktime media (.mov). It does show when I view a page with wmv content. I'm using firefox 3.0 and VLC 0.8.6i on Vista x64.
