problem: there is so much output in the stdout-cmd-box, that even 999 lines (max no.) are not enough to keep everything. how can I make the program write the debug-info into a textfile?

copy and pasted your hint - does not help: vlc starts with same unuseable interface. but I think even if that would be the trick - I would prefer to have this strange behaviour avoided from the start, because I don't just start vlc from the command line or via direct link, it is connected to all kin...

vlc-help, I have explained my problems with -i version in another thread, where you already giving advice, thanks http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=49739 and no, did not try any nightlies, don't think my problems can be solved that way, but of course I will try if you say I should.

I have currently problems to install/run 0.8.6.i version of vlc on nt4 svp6a and on my search if someone has same problems Ifound this thread.

well, all I can tell you is that I was (and am) able to run version 0.8.6.f without any problems. the "i" version now gives me problems ...
