Re: VLC needs to play incomplete files fragments

That depends on what type of file-sharing you're referring to. If you're referring to torrents, yes, they're downloaded in pieces - but not in any specific, consistent order. So even if you're downloading, say, an AVI that's 95 percent complete, you don't know for sure if that 5 percent that's missi...

Re: Movie crashed

Is that the information for "Land of the Dead," or "Shoot 'Em Up"?

It might help if you load the problem video(s) into MediaInfo, and cut and paste the information here (you may need to set MediaInfo to Tree mode first, I don't know...)

Re: How to associate VLC to Real+Quicktime Videos?

As far as I'm aware, VLC doesn't support Real video formats. (At least, it's not listed as possible on http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html .)

Re: 1.0.0 and following versions...

Which path did you check? If you've run VLC in the past, you should have a 'vlc' folder somewhere in your Applications Data folder (it could be buried on another folder level, though.) Try this: Start > Run > enter '%appdata% ' (without the quotes) in the Run window, and press Enter. In the Explorer...

Re: VLC download versions

Scroll to the bottom of the download page (in this case, http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html ). You should see a link to the FTP archive where you can download older versions.
Older versions

Older versions can be found by browsing our FTP archive

Re: VLC Player download from Univ. of Wisconsin not working

Are you extracting the entire directory structure within the archive, intact? The .exe files should be the installer version, and will create all the directories and put everything in the proper places. What happens if you simply open the UOW .7z archive in WinRAR and use WinRAR's 'test archive' fea...

Re: Customizing VLC

Hmm. Wonder if a (Windows) shortcut would also work. You'd have to add all that text to the command-line in the Target: field, though.

Yes, I know. :) It's also listed as not working with OSX 10.3.9; I was trying for a joke. I probably have lousy comedic timing, though.

Re: VLC media player 0.9.0-test2 prerelease

For those getting the 'Entry Point Not Found' error - are you installing over previous versions of 0.9.0? If so, you might try deleting/uninstalling your 0.9.0 setup, and reinstalling. I was getting the errors, until I deleted the directory and replaced it with the latest nightly build. Seems to be ...
