Won't play DVDs on Vista x64

Normally I use the Nightly versions, but downloaded the latest official release for testing this problem. While this is true - 1.2 didn't uninstall properly. This problem only occurs with VLC 1.2. 1.1.4 works fine. Gotta find out when the nightly builds failed with dvds. First occurred about a month...

Re: VLC 1.1 Not Playing DVD in Windows 7 64-bit

A quick look with google found a few others with similar problems - all of whom used Win 7. Have you tried updating the driver for this device?

Don't have this drive myself, but vlc plays dvd's just fine in both of my drives.

Re: No voices with .mkv files

I beta tested 1.1 and had no problem with mkv files with ogg, mp3, acc or flac. Even played one with a pcm soundtrack. Use MediaInfo to find out what sound format the file's using. Since you are getting some sound, you might want to check that you're using the correct speaker set up in windows. You ...

Re: .--please stay polite-- sub disappear when seeking

It's to do with the timing of the subs. If you seek past the time point the sub is supposed to be displayed, then vlc doesn't know that the sub should be displayed - hence no sub.

Have to agree that it's a pain in the .a ss^_^

GPU Acceration MKV/MP4 playback problem.

When I select GPU Acceleration, I have no problems playing DVD's and AVi's (Divx and Xvid format). edit, just tested an flv format file and that plays fine too. It's only when I play HD format (h264 and AVC) codec files (MP4 and MKV wrappers) that I have problems. The video stream is badly broken. I...

Re: Video series with separate Opening/Closing files.

Yes.

As I said, some ignore the open/close, which is fine with me, but some just have major problems.

If you need a torrent for an example file, I can post one for you.

Video series with separate Opening/Closing files.

I have a few series (all mkv with with h264) where for space saving, the group has moved the Opening and Ending credits to separate files.. The most common name format is along the lines of: SeriesName _01.mkv (etc), SeriesName _ED.mkv, SeriesName _OP.mkv. MediaplayerClassic 64 plays these fine. Eve...

Preferences displayed wrong in 090

Image

As you can see, the sidebar is overwritten by copies of the Interface page.

It still works, but you are guessing what tab you are selecting.

The problem is the same in simple mode too.

Re: .mvk issue

The latest nighly's (0.9.0) are a great improvement over the 8.6 series. BUT- 1: The subs are still overlapping. 2: Comments {this is a comment} are not being ignored. This isn't an MKV specific problem, but a softsub problem, as it also occurs in mp4 and other wrappers that allow softsubs. This doe...
