There is no device to select in the "Video device name" or Audio device name" drop down boxes. VLC doesn't see anything to use. The HD Pro stick is a different product and i am wondering if that is the difference.

Is the Pinnacle PCTV HD mini Stick 80e (USB) compatible with VLC (in Vista or XP)? Has anyone successfully used this to watch and stream HD TV from a coax cable? I ask because I have had problems with a few USB tuners and VLC. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

So with everything said and done, You can watch TV from a cable jack, from your wall, in VLC with the WinTV HVR900? And you can also stream that video to other PCs? I want to be clear because i have bought and returned a few USB tuners trying to do this. Seems there are problems with many USB tuners...

Thanks for posting your efforts Andre. It would be cool to get this working since it's pretty common to have voice and video incoming from the same capture device. This would enable all USB capture cards and would 'more so' put vlc in the hand of mobile users (capture card plus laptop).

I vote for 'Global' HotKeys. Controlling VLC, even when it is not selected (or not in the foreground), with preset keys (or remotes) would be extremely useful. As i understand it now the hotkeys are not like this.

Hi, when i open my capture device i only get video and no sound. It doesn't even let me select my capture card for sound. I have a Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro (801e) and cannot find the alleged WDM drivers that will ratify the problem. Can/will VLC support USB TV Tuner cards like mine?
