I think http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/4 is where it's being tracked. Unless you want another binary :)

dvdcss

Had an idea the other day... Since the patents on MPEG (as used in DVD's) seem to have expired, maybe VLC could create a "sibling project" to libdvdcss but first acquire a "real license" from the dvdcss people (I think it's only like $15K/year). Make it a service that other thing...

Re: What are the valid settings for --dshow-chroma ?

For followers:

https://wiki.videolan.org/Chroma/ lists them, apparently.

Also make sure to check if it's not a "setting disallowed by security" or what not: https://wiki.videolan.org/XSPF#Unsafe_operations

libvlc as input

Hello. I saw this post https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?p=374573#p374573 and wondered a similar question... Is it possible to use libVLC as kind of a "give me your packets" so that we can use them in other places [in this instance, I was contemplating creating a new libavdevice tha...

Re: DVD menu overlay doesn't show if DVD selected from "

OK in retrospect it's not related to 5055 at all :)

Basically, sometimes the DVD menu selection highlights just don't show up at all...seemingly reproducible at least in windows.

suggestion/feature request: show "hand cursor" when clickabl

Hello. I noticed that some commercial DVD players [ex: powerdvd] have a nice feature when navigating dvd menus: basically, if you hover over a "clickable" spot on the video screen with the mouse, they change the mouse cursor into the "hand cursor with the index finger sticking out&quo...

DVD menu overlay doesn't show if DVD selected from "

Hello. With the movie "cars 2" DVD [1] if I open VLC, then select "devices -> disks -> local drives [expand] -> d:\ It plays the dvd fine...but the dvd menu's have no overlays on them, which I think is unexpected. If I go Media [menu] -> open disc -> select d:\ then it works as expect...

odd UI behavior in Linux

Hello. I've noticed that in Ubuntu, if I insert a DVD, then open VLC, then choose "play a disc" it shows a drop down that *doesn't include* my newly inserted disk. It just says /dev/dvd [or something like that] which doesn't work. Navigating to the disk's VIDEO_TS folder and playing that i...

Just tell me what DVD to buy. OK to the best of my knowledge this is the DVD I have: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HN6922/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I tried to repro the problem and it seems...slightly different now (2.2.0 nightly behaves better than 2.1.3 seemingly, but still som...
