Re: VLC File association grayed

This is a serious bug of VERY long standing. Four years since the last post, it's now 2018 and VLC associates itself with a wide spread of completely inappropriate file types - for example, .zip. Colossally weird and really annoying. And then in 2018 you still cannot change file associations within ...

Re: DVD playback stops

Four years later, same behavior still occurs in VLC 2.0.7 64-bit, 2.0.1 32-bit, and 1.0.5 32-bit. Surely it isn't a hardware issue. I've found no mention of a solution.

Same problem. Also with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Will install VLC 1.1.6 per DarthWedgie's post above.

2.0.5 audio messed up

After upgrade from 2.0.4 to 2.0.5, volume in VLC is very low. Tried various audio settings without success.

Also, audio "pops" occasionally while playing dvd movie - cuts out for a split second.

Re: mission impossible ghost protocol DVD crashes vlc

Same issue. Ghost Protocol also makes SMPlayer behave erratically (forward/back controls, or clicking the timeline, crash the player).

Re: No voice track at all - just background music

Thanks lotesdelere. I decided to take the easy way out: bought a USB headset and am enjoying good sound with no hassles. (Logitech H530)

No voice track at all - just background music

I'm using VLC 2.0.3. Windows XP Pro SP3, BioStar motherboard TA790GX A2+, using onboard Realtek audio. When I play commercial DVDs, I'm getting no voice track at all - only the background music plays. This problem occurs in Both Windows XP Pro and Linux Mint. Haven't change anything in hardware setu...

VLC 2.0.2 for Windows stops playing DVD movies

VLC 2.0.2 for Windows recently began "choking" on commercial DVD movies. I browsed the first page of the forum, as well as the troubleshooting FAQ, but wouldn't know where to begin searching for solutions, as I don't know what the problem is. It's not exactly "stuttering," for ex...

VLC doesn't install on SuSE SLED 10 SP2

When I try to install VLC on SLED 10 SP2, I get a bunch of missing dependencies, starting with libpostproc.so.51. Yast says it doesn't have a source for these files. Any idea which repo has them?
