Re: vlc.win32.nsi still missing

@Erroneus: Take a look into the http://sourceforge.net/projects/vlc/fil ... z/download 7z file, this time the .nsi and the NSIS folder are included again (I hope it will be in future versions too).

Re: vlc.win32.nsi still missing

Another update: I had to use another UAC.dll file. The file from here http://nsis.sourceforge.net/UAC_plug-in didn't work for me, instead I took the UAC.dll from the 2.0.3 release http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/2.0.3/win32/vlc-2.0.3-win32.7z and put it in the NSIS folder, like in 2.0....

Re: missing folders in 2.0.1 packages

I downloaded some of the nightly builds but was not able to find the required files to get NSIS working. Can you provide a link to a file?

Re: missing folders in 2.0.1 packages

The files necessary for creating a customized version with NSIS are missing again in 2.0.5 (from version 2.0.2 until 2.0.4 the files were available) :-( This time it is also not possible to extract these files (described http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=99300&p=337664#p337664 )...

Re: missing folders in 2.0.1 packages

update on this one... I downloaded this one: http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/2.0.1/vlc-2.0.1.tar.xz Then I extracted (use 7zip) languages and UAC.nsh, UAC.dll from here: \extras\package\win32 Put the language folder in your root vlc path (from the zip file), create a NSIS sub folder wi...

Re: missing folders in 2.0.1 packages

Why not? Msi are better than .exe for installation.
MSI files would be great as long as these are configurable (e.g. no update, file assoc, etc...)

Re: missing folders in 2.0.1 packages

@Jean-Baptiste: thx for the file but I don't really understand why these folders won't be easily available in future versions. I don't think that you will provide a special msi for every new version ;-)

Re: missing folders in 2.0.1 packages

Ticket was closed by courmisch, marked as invalid. If I want to modify the installation parameters I need those files.
Is there another way to configure the installation (e.g. shortcut creation, deactivation of ActiveX component, file extension configuration)?

missing folders in 2.0.1 packages

Hi, I downloaded the 2.0.1 Windows files and noticed that the folders "NSIS" and "languages" are missing (7z und zip file). These folders are required for a custom installation with the nsi file. Am I supposed to take the folders from the 2.0.0 release? Any help appreciated. BR, ...

Re: DVD won't play

There have been similar posts but I don't know what causes the issue. Not all people have this problem. If it is DVDnav related, nightlies might have fix for it.

Re: DVD won't play

additional note: thx to VLC_help! If I start the DVD an wait for approximately 15 seconds the video starts. Now comes the question: why?!? The DVD starts instantly on my old single core PC and needs 15 seconds on my new dual core notebook. Can anyone give me a reason for that (the configuration of v...

Re: DVD won't play

Does it help if you try no menus option or wait about 30 minutes when VLC tries to open the DVD?
"no menu" option does not help.
wait for 30 minutes?!? I never waited that long, really 30 minutes not 30 seconds?!?
Why should I wait 30 min (any technical reason)?
