So my question remians...how to I get VLM to stop or retry http input streams and not start bombarding the server with connection requests when the service is not available?

Re: HTTP Live Streaming multiple quality output

Hi, I have given up on this with VLC as the solution cannot be achieved with VLC (has to do with iframe sync n H.264). To achieve truely seamless switchover I now use a commercial product that also supports HLS encryption (which was also was one of my requirements. I do use VLC to feed my original s...

HLS: Encrypted TS output

Hi,

I have noticed in a couple of Google searches that there has been some work done on encrypted HLS output: http://patches.videolan.org/patch/6/.

Can someone tell me if this is going to be implemented into the main branch of VLC in the near future and if so when?

Many Thanks!!

Re: HTTP Live Streaming multiple quality output

Hi, I had the same issue when first trying HLS streaming for my iPad(s) and iPhone(s)...this issue is that when you combine all of your encoding into one VLC process it simply takes time to duplicate the video frames and then re-encode them and finally mux them for your various formats causing the v...

PGS Subtitle Streaming

Hi All,

Just a quick feature request.....

Would it be possible to implement PGS subtitle streaming (similar to dvdsub streaming)? This feature would make the streaming of HD material (ripped from Blu-Rays) complete.

Keep up the fantastic work of VLC!!!!!

Re: VLC AC3 SPDIF Output

Hi again, Also, another update to my previous post....it seems that other command-line options generate the same Assertion error...I have tried various options as described in the vlc_help.txt file and it looks like there is a discrepancy in how 1.1.0 loads the options....in the vlc_help.txt file an...

Re: VLC multicast problem

Hi, It sounds like your issues are two-fold. 1. Using an IGMP snooping switch in the network will not solve your issues...you need an "IGMP querier" in your network to periodically query your clients to see if they are still listening to the specific multicast address you entered into the ...

UPDATED: I have tried the nightly builds for 1.1.x (for the last two weeks) and this is still an issue...should I open a bug ticket? Is this issue recognized? Are any other users experiencing this problem? It seems that other users are experiencing this problem as well...see http://bugs.debian.org/...

Re: UDP TS MUX ?

Hi all, I have tried the example config on a linux box and it does not work correctly...the pid are getting mixed up because when using the bridge-in, the bridge-ids are not converted to the ts-pids correctly. The client opens all of the mux video in seperate widows and plays the audio stream from t...
