HTTP Stream Information

hello, it would be really nice if there would be a little info window when playing http streams (flash/divx) showing dl speed, how much percent of the video has already been loaded and maybe total length. as many http streams are quite slow I often pause playback (in apps like adobe flash player/div...

Re: Screen Tearing isue during fast scenes in a movie

nope tried forcing vsync via nvidia cp and nHancer since v1.03 - didn't work - besides you don't have to force vsync for any other video player sw (wmp, mpc hc, powerdvd ...) so why should you have to for vlc - they should fix the directx libraries and the problem would be solved. the only working s...

Re: Screen Tearing isue during fast scenes in a movie

Same problem since v1.03 - tried 1.05 now but I found out how it occured. (in my case) I have 2 displays in Dualview - a tft (1680x1050) and a LCD (1360x768). If I play any movie with a higher res, like eg 720p/1080p, meaning that the movie window + menubars etc is bigger than the current display re...

Re: Subtitle Font Effect

..., nothing else. that part isn't true. the font is bold by default in MPC HC but this was never about the font but about everything arround it. Outline (Border, Shadow & Transparency) I've updated the comparison pic. it has white background now so it should be apparent what i mean. so what wo...

Re: allow different aspect ratio modes.

under preferences (adv. setttings) video there are already 3 options for AR:
Source aspect ratio, Custom aspect ratios list & Monitor Pixel aspect ratio

example for custom AR list: 185:100,235:100,133:100,137:100

Re: Subtitle Font Effect

well, that's simply not true. of course you have to select a different renderer to display subtitles in the first place (VMR7/9 renderless) and if you do these are the standard options for subtitles: http://img4.abload.de/img/mpc-optionsnxcn.jpg notice smth like Border width, Shadow depth ...

Subtitle Font Effect

hello, it would be nice to have a better Font Effect Setting for Subtitles in the freetype2 font renderer. Outline is to thin, Fat Outline to thick and Background to ugly. I don't know exactly how that's called but if I use MPC Homecinema there's a small shadow below half-right of the text in additi...

Re: Tearing during playback in 1.0.3 XP?

you are right of course - sry & thx. but it does only work partly when I force vsync for vlc.exe! meaning sometimes vertical tearing still comes up - it gets a little better when forcing it but it's NOT gone - so thats no solution for me either. additionally with the directx video output ...

Re: Tearing during playback in 1.0.3 XP?

that's hardly a solution, at the utmost a temporary fix besides, I don't want to force vsync via - in my case - nvidia control panel (or nhancer). I have different settings for different applications (OpenGL & Direct3d) btw under tools --> messages - verbosity level 2 nothing is shown during the...

Re: Tearing during playback in 1.0.3 XP?

same here. the vertical tearing is really annoying gonna revert back to v 1.0.2 until this is fixed in a later release. :( happens with the directx video output module. by now I should know better  it's not the first time that something critical (or annoying) came up after updating to the late...

Re: 1.85:1 AR option

ah, thx a lot, got it, Custom Aspect Ratios List but finding the right input was quite tricky, for example 2.35:1 doesn't work (displayed wrong) but 235:100 does. same goes for 1.85:1 (185:100) --> 235:100,185:100 as all these AR are already in the crop menu by default it still would be nice if they...

Re: 1.85:1 AR option

mhm all I see in version 0.9.6 and 0.9.8a in Video --> Aspect Ratio --> is 1:1 4:3 16:9 16:10 2.21:1 and 5:4 I just tested it by changing the AR of an avi file via MPEG-4 Modifier to 1.85:1 Display AR, playing it in vlc and applying the relevant AR settings (16:9, 2.21:1) --> the image always gets s...

1.85:1 AR option

It would be nice if you could add another aspect ratio feature to the ones you already have (1.85 :1). for movies which aren't 2.35 or 16/9 but in between.

Re: Fullscreen not work on 2nd Monitor. Always on 1st

same problem here - worked with 0.9.6 for me - not with 0.9.8a changing primary display device doesn't seem to have any effect, as well as deactivating hardware accelleration or choosing another output module. what you could do in the meantime if you want to keep using v0.9.8a is cloning the video (...

Re: audio/video out of sync ONLY in vlc

my headphones (steelsound 5h v2) have a usb-soundcard, it's the same with them. look closely - watch it with and without +200 ms delay ah I'm sorry the delay is in the file itself - so it has nothing to do with the player (just noticed the same delay with mpc, wmp, bsplayer) most people won't even n...

Re: audio/video out of sync ONLY in vlc

I tried the DirectX, Portaudio and win32 waveOut extension - It's all the same with them (+200 ms) with File-Output and Dummy I don't hear a thing. My Onboard Sound is soundmax adi 1988B if that matters. Here's the Output of the messages tab verbose level 2 when I open the file jump to a specific lo...

audio/video out of sync

i have a strange problem with vlc (version 0.9.6) playing various videos - mostly xivd with mp3 (cbr/abr/vbr) or ac3 audio but also mkvs with avc1 & ac3 audio. there seems be be a slight delay (mostly about +200 ms) which only vlc seems to create. other playes like wmp, old bsplayer or mpc play ...
