Re: Adjusting Rate Control and frame skips

i still cannot explain me why VLC is readjusting the rate. The video content stays the same and the wireless connection isnt changed either. Furthermore the stream sometimes slightly freezes although nothing is found in the logger.

smn has an idea for me?

Re: Adjusting Rate Control and frame skips

i maybe have to specify the first dshow device I used was an S-Video grabber device. Rate control never occured here, not once. The second device I used was a VGA capture device which captures at 800x600 and a lot of rate adjusting occurs here. Does this likely depend on the high packet loss or high...

Adjusting Rate Control and frame skips

Hi VLC is adjusting the rate a lot when i do streaming from a new directshow device. This causes a lot of frame skips on the client side which did not occur when using a different dshow device where no rate adjusting took place. What does cause this rate adjusting and how to solve it? using a http c...

Re: Are you satisfied with VLC Player Version 0.9.x so far?

i love vlc and i generally love the new version

for things where u need reliability for streaming purposes maybe an older version is better for windows.

having said that, features of 0.9x kick arse and a life without bugs is only have the fun.

Desktop Capture / Screen Capture with Audio / Microphone ?

Re: Plextor ConvertX PX-M402U no sound in VLC, video fine.

configure ur audio device before using it
configure it using vlc somewhere where u select it there should be such a button or under advanced

if u run under windows:

try using the command line
select the recording line using the control panel (eg select microphone for recording)

Re: GPL concerns

yes it needs vlc headers

the question was more, could the virtools framework (which is proprietary) be a problem?

GPL concerns

Hi When integrating LibVLC into a project which is built using a visual programming framework like virtools (http://www.virtools.com/), this leads of course to the project being under GPL. But actually one has to first integrate LibVLC into Virtools to be able to use it in the project. Allowed? Cheers

Re: Have clients register for a RTP stream? Tunnel HTTP?

in http://www.remlab.net/op/vod.shtml you wrote: "HTTP goes through almost any firewall. Even from tightly restricted Intranets, you can always find an outgoing HTTP proxy to use. " i guess you refer the outgoing http stream from an intranet server to the web. Is it possible in VLC to defi...

Re: HTTP streaming to Quicktime

i doubt you can stream to quicktime using http (i tried myself once and was unable to get it working) you can, of course, output to 2 different sout streams. Do a http output stream for iphone and a rtsp stream for quicktime. btw you cannot do rtsp streaming to a client who wants the stream, can you...

Re: Have clients register for a RTP stream? Tunnel HTTP?

i'm a bit surprised HTTP is not working since i can stream using flash media encoder from inside the university net to outside. fme uses rtmp (tcp) Rtmpt (http) or rtmps (https).... rtmpt does nothing else than using http for tunneling the video stream to come around the firewall if i'm not wrong......

Have clients register for a RTP stream? Tunnel HTTP?

I can stream video using rtp to the outside web. Is there something i can do? (like tunnel the http transfer so the university firewall cann...

Re: VLC vs other open source projects

specially vs flash interests me. I think the ease of embedding vlc into a 3rd party software is good. I'm not sure whether it's easy to embed a flash player in some 3rd party software.

Latency difference when using multiple Stream Clients

Hi

when I do live video streaming over http to several clients I get a kinda special effect:

one or two clients get the data at the same time, while the 3rd one gets his video some seconds later.

How can this be explained (maybe queued sending?)? The more clients, the bigger this effect will be?

VLC vs other open source projects

Hi VLC is a cool project... i know there are several big competitors around there, like Darwin Streaming Server, Realtimes open source Helix and Flash Red5. Now what me interests are the pros and cons of vlc, especially vs DSS. If possible honest answers... :-) What i think so far: DSS ------ + Big ...
