I tried the 27 july nightly build that you talked.
It opens the file but it fails to stream the file to ps3 through tversity (ps3 reports unsuported data type)

vlc 0.8.5 works fine (playing and streaming) so I will have to continue using it.

Got nostalgic and went try all the old vlc versions
The old vlc 0.8.5 plays my ts file!!
It's the only one that does it.

the 0.8.6 series and the 0.9.0 builds are all broken.

I don't think it is a ffmpeg problem anymore...

My pc is single core. I play the file with wmp with some freezes but it plays. vlc only decodes the audio. It correctly reports the video as h.264 (HD) but doesn't play it. ZERO FRAMES DECODED. It's a shame!!
Windows media player, bsplayer, mplayer and all kind of software plays the sattelite h.264 file.
EVEN THE PS3 PLAYS the file AFTER RENAMING THE EXTENSION FROM .ts TO .mp4
