Is it possible to perform snapshot over RC or HTTP interface, rather than have to focus on the GUI and use hotkeys.

Unless there already is a way of doing snapshot other than via Hotkeys, it would be nice to have the ability to do snapshot command via RC or Telnet. Appreciate if you could add this feature.

Or is there a way around this ?

The hhtp interface offers the ability to send VLM commands.

Is the same true for rc interface.

I cannot see this in the help list, when I attach on rc interface.

I'm launching a vlc with telnet interface and creating a mosaic via a .vlm as follows: vlc -I telnet --telnet-port 4212 --telnet-password admin --color -vvv --vlm-conf mosaic.vlm I then tried telnet localhost 4212 but the connection does not get established. Has anybody any ideas. This is 0.8.6d on ...

I tried the -vvv, but don't see any verbose output suggesting what's going on.

The VLC control dialog pops up, but I get no output to the launching DOS window.

Any ideas?

Is vlc always listening for commands in this mode? i.e Can I send it a command asychronously, telling it to abort a current loop, say ?

Is it possible to start vlc from a command line obtaining it's stdin, and then send it commands interactively thro stdin e.g tell it to start playing another .mp4 file or something?

Running VLC 0.8.6d on XP. I have tried the example command line transcode at URL below. This doesn't produce any output file at all. I don't see any error output. Tried --verbose switch too. I've installed VLC 0.8.6d on XP.

When I run vlc from a command bat file as mosaic with some looping mp4 channels running, I cannot exit the VLC by clicking on top rh exit control.

Only way to kill it is from task manager.

Has anybody encountered this?
