This issue has changed my opinion of VLC player. I used to view VLC player as the unconquerable media player that could play anything. This is a major chink in its armor. How could VLC not be able to play video with sound from something as ubiquitous as the Flip??? It has 13% of the camcorder market...

Here's some more info on the same file from Mediainfo, it's a neat little program. Could you identify AVI files with tool called Mediainfo? It should tell little more about audio codec. I am also having the problem with my Flip and its .avi files. I did ctrl+i and the audio codec being used is "ms". Any ideas? Thanks.
