I think the driver update is the best option. You have problems with new control panel and TV-out settings?
Yes, unfortunately. Even if the signal type has been set to M/NTSC, it looks as though a PAL signal is still being sent to the TV and thus, producing a distorted picture/video.

I haven't tried both options. I will give them a try and let you know. BTW, what would be the difference in selecting a different video output module? Which one is the recommended setting?
