Re: What is suggested by no videos working but audios workin

However people say VLC 1 works for them with kernelex under Win 98. I know no reason to doubt what they say. See http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/130936-kernelex-45-final/ search in text for " Fixed: VLC 1.0+ (UI)" note dated 7/30/2010. The question is what do these symptoms, including work...

What is suggested by no videos working but audios working

I am trying to run VLC 1.0.3 under kernlex 4.5 final under Win 98. Numerous people running this configuration say VLC works fine, that's why I am testing with 1.0.3. However it doesn't for me. I am suspecting the problem might not be OS/kernelex related. All audios I have tried play fine. I have yet...

Re: Vlc 1.1.0 Installed properly at win98 SE but not running

I got the same page error, invalid page fault in user.exe, but running VLC 1.0.3 with KernelEx 4.5 beta 2.

Attempting to run 1.1.0 under KernelEx 4.5 beta 2, I got nothing. My drive activity light quickly went on and off, and my cpu utilization went to zero.

Stumped? Where does VLC look for a playlist?

I have a playlist. However, when I say view, playlist, I always get a blank playlist and have to say manage, open playlist, and then search to find my playlist.

How can I get the program to open my playlist directly when I say view, playlist?

Can I change the location of the VLC configuration files?

On my Win98 system, VLC player stores its configuration file and a cache file in c:\windows\application data\vlc\vlcrc. SeeVideoLAN FAQ 1.3.

For various reasons, this is a bad location for me. Is there any way I can change this location?

Re: fyi - latest vlc-0.8.6e-win32 wont work on W98SE

The demise of Windows 98 has been greatly exaggerated. In fact, Win 98, SE at least, remains alive and well, as shown by the various active Win 98 groups around the web. There are people who say Windows 98 gets better every year, especially on days when M$ issues its XP/Vista patches. Win 98 has pro...
