Nothing. When I hit play, I see the name of the file flash and that's it.

Edit: It was playing fine in 8.6c.

I reset preferences. How do I reset cache?

First: I have been running VLC for quite some time and am very happy with it. Many times when a video will not run in Media Player or other viewers, VLC will work.
