Re: always on top fail

Recently i started noticing issues with Always on top as well (Windows 7, 3.0.11). Most of the time when i start some video and click somewhere, VLC window goes under, so Always on top is not working. I can try clicking that setting again, but it doesn't help. If i close VLC and open that video file...

Why does it need access to microphone on Android?

Today VLC update popped up on my Huawei/Android 5 tablet and it asked for microphone permission. I don't think it ever asked for this before and i wonder why it needs it.

Re: A link to win32 exe installer?

Haha. My bad. I saw a drop down arrow and pressed on it. Didn't try to press on the button itself.

A link to win32 exe installer?

I think i was still able to download win32 version for 2.2.2 last time. But now i only get win64 link when i go to Windows downloads. I know that i'm on a x64 Windows, but i might need that installer for other x86 PCs and i don't want to tweak url to get to that win32 exe (zips are still provided fo...

Re: VLC very slow to start

Didn't do anything for me. Maybe it is a bit faster when starting VLC alone. But i test this by launching a movie file (with a double click) after a system reboot (+1 min. wait for everything to load). It still takes long and actually when Auto Start is disabled in the Playlist settings you also hav...

Re: VLC very slow to start

So, I agree with the other poster that indicated that plugins.dat needs to be located in a user writable location, such as %appdata%. Unfortunately, since plugins.dat needs to be writable and is currently in the Program Files location, this setup follows the Win95 security model. Be careful, you ar...

Re: VLC very slow to start

So, in my case it is not a corrupted plugins cache issue. If i do a clean install with AV disabled (same with AV enabled) it starts instantly when AV is disabled and starts slow when AV is enabled. I get that it would still start slow with AV disabled, if plugins cache is getting corrupted during th...

Re: VLC very slow to start

Starting VLC without plugins cache has always been slow on Windows. Absolutely always. With the 1.x version of VLC this was true only for the first launch after the upgrade of VLC. It was even showing a cmd (terminal) window saying that caches are being rebuilt or something like that. Then it was f...

Re: VLC very slow to start

For me as for many users on this thread this problem started with the release of 2.x version. 1.x version was always instant to launch no matter the permissions or AV software in use. I was using the same OS, same AV software with VLC 1.x and then updated to 2.x and suddenly VLC startup became 10+ s...

vlc shows 1st frame and only plays sound (mov, example)

Maybe that's somehow specific to my system. I cant play those files with ffdshow+mpc or quicktime alternative+mpc. havent tried original QT. Maybe these files are broken, but i think people wont put them on the page then. http://www.rubyonrails.org/screencasts To me it only shows the first frame of ...
