hi

you have to use mosaic and put an image in second stream
result : when you video stream stop for any reason, client will get your image
if video restarts, client will get video because image is behind

works like a charm

problem : since vlc 0.9, it doesn't work well

with 1.0 my tips doesn't work well each time
I have still to use 0.8.6 to be ok

possible to get help to fix this issue ?

vlc client stops now and server sounds dead

This sounds good.. is it possible to stream a jpg as background in mosaic ?

hello use just mosaic that works well I use it to do the same thing : - stream a background with same size as other video stream - when I receive stream, background is juste behind... and if video stream stops, I get background image => from clients, stream is never broken that's all regards Niko

hello what's your source and in what size/resolution ? I made the same thing and cpu is also out, but h264 eats ressources that's known, I need to change my server too from my side I get video from capture card in 720x576 and I use mosaic to solve problem if source has a problem, I diaplay an image ...

hello

same here, crash in trying to stream with capture card
impossible to use these 0.9 builds to encode in h264
0.8.6 is last good build

and no comments from vlc staff
would be cool to tell us where are you about this problem

just tested it and result is horrible !!!
before with udp stream it was ok now catastrophic

downgraded into last 0.8.6
