Actually it would seem it's a fairly new version.

New Features in v10.4

* QuickTime Streaming Server 5.5
And the latest version of Darwin Streaming Server is 5.5.1.

I'll see if I can get them to do something, thanks.

BTW, mplayer says the server is:

QTSS/5.5.2 (Build/489.0.3; Platform/MacOSX; Release/Update; )

Do newer versions of QTSS work right, and are they upgradeable without upgrading Mac OS?

No audio with VLC

WinXP Pro SP2, VLC 0.8.4 EDIT: also tried with 0.8.5-svn-20060123-0045, no luck there, either. I am trying to use VLC to play some video files from my school's language lab, because stupid Quicktime won't go fullscreen. However, while the video works, there is absolutely no sound. Trying other video...

Hotkeys for video resize?

Hi, I've been using VLC for abou 6 months now, and I rather like it. Aside from QDMC and the occasional other thing that requires binary codecs, it's quite impressive. I've been looking through the hotkeys dialog box and setting up some hotkeys. I would like to set keys for zoom 50%, 100%, and 200% ...

I suspect I may have encountered this too. I was recording some video streams on my Windows XP box, and the machine would always get really sluggish and then lock up after several hours. FWIW, it doesn't seem to have a memory leak on Fedora Core 3. I ran 2 instances for 15 hours straight. Although, ...

Embedding VLC in a Qt application

I was wondering if there was any documentation on embedding a VLC window in a Qt application. I can launch it as a seperate process with QProcess, but I'd like to have it in the same window as the rest of my app so I can easily move/resize the windows.

Thanks.

Well, I've thought of that, and right now it looks like the best solution, but I can't get VLC to recognize the format of my audio stream, at all. The docs say you can force it, but I haven't been able to find out how that works. The data is raw PCM, signed 16-bit, little-endian, mono, 8000 Hz. In m...

OK, I see that this option only works for timestamped audio files. Darn.

Hmm... I tried:

vlc http://10.0.0.151/GetData.cgi --input-slave http://10.0.0.151/GetAudioData.cgi?Format=Pcm

VLC still tells me it can't guess the format of the audio stream, and I get a bunch of "demux doesn't like DEMUX_GET_TIME" errors until I stop playback.

Seperate audio/video streams

Is it possible for VLC to read seperate audio and video streams and mux them together? I'm building a security application, and I have a security camera that sends the audio and video seperately. I need to be able to pull those together and mux/transcode while playing the stream. VLC seems to have m...

Playback of raw PCM audio / Real-time muxing

Hi there, I have a project where I need to be able to take a network audio stream and save it to disk while playing it. After looking at several solutions, I believe VLC is currently the best suited to my needs. The file I am trying to open is streaming data as raw PCM, signed 16-bit, little-endian,...
