I have a dual boot MAC and linux machine. Even with my MACOS being loaded on an SSD, VLC takes almost 30 seconds to open. It's almost instantaneous on my linux partition and that is runnign on a standard hard drive. So what is the problem?
I recall when I used to play video files that were truncated or missing frames, it would skip them and continue to search and play what it was able to. How do I get that behavior working again?
I'm having the same issue with some video files. VLC stops playing when it hits an empty frame or whatever it is you call it. It used keep playing until it got to parts of the video that were playable again. Is there nothing we can change in the preferences that will bring back this behavior?
When I go full screen with the MAC version of VLC I get these really cool video overlay controls that I DO NOT get with the linux version. Is it possible to enable these in the linux version?
