Maybe for the feature request section but could be viewed as a bug also(?) Double clicking a Finder alias to a mp3 file works fine, but dragging aliases to the playlist won't play them.

Can the VLC dark/bright interface adapt to follow the chosen dark/bright mode in MacOS 10.14 by default? Changeable of course, maybe an added 'Auto' radio button.

Could there be an expandable/hideable option to display album art in left side panel? maybe with some info although that possible is in the playlist already.

when VLC picks up position in previously played movie file, could it remember also audio track and subtitle previously selected? using 2.2.8, not sure if 3.0.3 is the same.

I see a similar problem on Mac, but every track gets renamed to the title of the album. Been like that for years.

I notice that some downloaded .cue files point to a .wav file with WAVE afterwards, while the downloaded file is .ape for example and will not play when loading the cue. Maybe I understand something wrong, but could VLC fall back to play the similarly named .ape or .flac file in the directory instea...

I have had the same problem for years, now on 3.0.2 on OSX 10.11.6. I can't even find any setting to fix this, but it shouldn't be like this by default? More specifically it's not the first song, rather the album name (TITLE, under PERFORMER) that replaces all played and current playing TITLE names ...

I suppose support for 6th gen Core Kaby Lake with macOS 10.12 will be out of the question. It's that forced APFS file system which broke down my Mac, can't have that happen again. Maybe I need to look for a fusion drive equipped mac or somehow force install 10.13 with HFS+ on SSD if possible.

I see only font / size / color & force bold / opacity / outline thickness & color.
Was thinking of color & opacity for the background, not the subtitle text itself.

Could there be an option for having a background for the subtitles in the settings, with opacity? Sort of like how Quicktime displays subtitles, a translucent background marker which looks nice. Would work well in bright areas I think, like in b/w films with lot of white text in the prologue, which ...

Could there be touch bar support for the latest MacBook Pro? Like, not only a progress bar but perhaps also miniature thumbnails of your playlist.

Hm, yes I guess it'd be a matter of mute channels, I have the same track in 5.1 where the sub channel is used, whereas in this it is not.
Can you take a look at another file I uploaded then, johnny.dts? It's a quadrophonic (4-channel) vinyl rip, made DTS (so it must be 4.0)

It's the same in 2.2.0... I use OSX by the way. When I play .dts or .flac files of DTS 4.0 content VLC states 2F2R, so maybe it's just 4.0 .wav files that gets recognized as 3F2R/LFE. Or the files I tried are 5.1 but has silence on the center/sub channels.

I am pretty sure this is 4.0 as I have 5.1 version where my subwoofer is used, whereas with this file it's silent.

Does VLC display 4.0 audio tracks as 3F2R/LFE in the media info? Should be 2F2R, or I've got 4.0 dts tracks mixed as 5.1 with no sound on center/sub...

works fine already...although default subtitle language (if chosen) doesn't get auto-applied like on mkv's.

Subs embedded in mp4 files don't get italic when they should, is it a bug? Using 2.0.6 on OSX.

Not sure if this has been requested, but could there be support for mkv's embedded cover art
to be displayed in the media info window? Probably isn't used much, but it might take off if
