Re: Browser PlugIn For VLC 0.9x ??!!!

The 0.8.6 one seems to still work with VLC 0.9.5, but obviously, use at your own risk. Personally, I find that although the browser plugin is a great idea in theory, it's never been polished well enough to really stand out on its own... It's functional, but always seems to have been lacking developm...

Re: How to associate all files with VLC?

Technically, this could be done by editing the com.apple.LaunchServices.plist file, but VLC doesn't currently do this.

Re: VLC 0.9.2 extremely choppy video compared to 0.8.6i

Hi all, I've noted that disabling the Skip Frames option in the Video preference drastically improves my video quality, particularly with .avi and .mkv files. This may obviously affect performance of higher-quality media, but clearly points to the (new?) frame skipping algorithms as the culrpit... A...

That would be very cool. The source files are a bit bloated, but the concepts are easy enough to grasp... This would make an awesome addition.

These are my early tests, I'll add the rest and clean the format up a bit in the morning. I also plan to redo raw. These were conducted with this file (mov:XViD/mpga), with 384kbps video output, 128/2 audio output, for speed's sake. Audio and video were converted separately. MPEG 4 Encapsulation - m...

You probably installed VLC after the WMP, so it kind of overwrote the default application for WMV-files. In the dialogue where you can tell the Finder to open your WMV with WMP, there is a button titled "Apply to all" or similar, which applies this setting to all files of that type includ...

Also, WHAT and HOW are you transcoding here. You need to be more specific. Because it should work. I tested it. I've tested with a few options, generally from avi:xvid/mpga into h.264 with an MPEG4 wrapper (iPod-compatible format, essentially). Pretty much any standard mpeg 4 instances would not wo...

It works fine for me (MBPro 1.83). Did you do a Migration Assistant from a previous version of OSX? If so, you may have copied over older VLC preference files. Run the preference deleter, and see if that helps.

Excellent, thank you. Additionally, is there any way of having the subtitles pause while the video is paused? I've noticed that the timing for the subtitles continues even while the picture is stopped, which is a bit annoying; but being subtitles, they pick up right after the next bit of dialogue. J...

Menu Rendering Errors in Mac OS 10.4? / Pausing Subtitles?

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4, and VLC 0.8.1. VLC successfully detected the subtitles in an OGM file of mine, according to the messages, yet the Visualizations, Audio Device, Audio Track, and Audio Channels of the Audio menu, and the Deinterlace, Postprocessing, Video Device, Video Track, and Subtitle T...

Wasn't there a court order for Microsoft to release the details of the wmv3 format a while back? Eh, I may be mistaken.

A Few Feature Requests/Fixes/Improvements

Hello! Thanks for an amazing product. :) I've been running VLC on Mac OS X for quite some time now, and while there are several things that I like about VLC, there are some tiny things that I wish would be fixed. I'm sure many of the things I mentioned (mainly interface glitches) are specific to the...

I've noticed this as well... Setting a video to grayscale mode on OSX results in shades of green, as opposed to shades of gray.
