Is there any possible way to record video directly from what is displayed on my monitor? I want to record a video for a how-to tutorial, except my webcam doesn't take good pictures of my screen and doesn't record video well at all.

It definitely helped, but it is still skipping a bit for the first 3-6 seconds, also not as bad as it was before. Unfortunately, it doesn't explain why it suddenly stopped working, I didn't alter any settings and I don't remember updating anything related to directx or other audio.

I tried each one, I don't think there was any difference. It was set at default, so I put it back once I was done.

I have tried a few times, but if anything, it got even worse.

Any audio I play on vlc is jumpy, almost as if it is a scratched cd, but all the time. I tried playing wma, mp3, mp4, wmv, wav, and avi files all with jumpy audio.
