Is there any difference in cpu usage if we maximize and minimize the VLC player window?

Hi all, I'm using VLC 0.8.6d to play flash .flv file. When flv file playing in VLC player in the window (no other application launched in window), the cpu consumed was 550 MHz. when opened any appln e.g. IE page and VLC player playing in the background, CPU consumed was only 70 MHz.
